The National Council of People Living with Disabilities (NCPD) Uasin Gishu Coordinator Titus Yego has criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta for not appointing anybody with a disability to the cabinet.“As people with disabilities from the region we are not happy at all with the new cabinet since we don’t have anyone who will represent us, this is a clear manifestation that the government is not interested in disability issues,” he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.“We are qualified and can do even better than our normal counterparts. We are just wondering why we were not considered,” he added. He, however, urged President Kenyatta to consider them in the remaining principal secretaries’ post and any other appointments.“We are calling upon President Kenyatta to consider us in the remaining principal secretaries slots for our issues to be fully represented and also for us to feel part of the government,” noted Yego.He warned parents still hiding children with the disabilities that they will be arrested and charged since they are denying their children right to education.
