People with disability (PWD’s) have urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to consider them in cabinet appointments.

The National Council of People Living with Disabilities (NCPD) Uasin Gishu Coordinator Titus Yego said in their first term in office no person with a disability was appointed Cabinet Secretary, therefore, should be given a chance.

“I want to humbly urge President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy to please consider us while constituting his new cabinet. We want one of our own to represent us we are tired of being sidelined,” he said in Eldoret town, Saturday.

“If we at least get one cabinet secretary we will be very grateful,” he added.

He, however, urged parents with children living with a disability not to hide but instead take them to school since they have the right to education just like their normal counterparts.

“There are many funds from both the county and national governments meant for people with disability and hiding a child you are denying them a chance to access the funds. We will take stern actions against any parent hiding disable child since it's against the law,” noted Yego.
