Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has slammed aounty assemblies that have passed the controversial people's assembly motion.

The Jubilee allied governor claims Members of County Assembly (MCAs) that have passed the motion were misled by the National Super Alliance (NASA) top leadership.

Speaking in Eldoret on Thursday, Mandago said the motion has no constitutional backing and is only meant to serve selfish political interests of a few individuals.

"I want to challenge those counties that have passed the people's assembly motion to tell us where it is provided in the constitution because they are no such things," Mandago said.

"If they had been told so by 'baba' then they need to go back and read the constitution bit-by-bit until they know that such a thing doesn't exist," he added.

NASA has been fronting for the motion in its strongholds and so far Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay, Siaya, Makueni, Vihiga, Busia, Kakamega and Bungoma County Assemblies have already passed.
