Bini termed the directive orderly and on point, saying that it will bring sanity in the education sector.

Speaking in his office on Tuesday, Bini said the move will improve performance in public schools that has deteriorated.

"By signing performance contracts, performance in public schools will be monitored, and if they are performing below standards they will be transferred. Why are teachers fearing to sign the contracts? are they hiding something we don't know?" he posed.

"Public schools have always performed poorly since no one is monitoring them. I urge TSC not to relent in their directive by ensuring all teachers sign the performance contracts. If they will not act at speed to ensure that quality education is offered to poor students in public schools, education will only be for the rich," he said.

This comes comes after TSC directed that teachers sign performance contracts to advocate for quality education and efficiency in monitoring teachers.
