The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has listed the three spots as among the deadliest accident-prone areas on the busy highway and across the country.

NTSA director general Francis Meja said the speed cameras will be installed at specific points to curb road accidents.

He said many accidents are being caused by careless driving, adding that those caught contravening traffic rules and regulations will be arrested and charged in court.

In a statement released to the media, the director further indicated that motorists in city centres will be driving at 50km/h.

“Motorists in central business districts are only allowed to drive at 50km/h. A swoop on errant motorists will be conducted as schools re-open from next week,” he said.

The Nairobi-Nakuru highway has been cited among the deadliest accident prone areas in the world.

Salgaa is the most notorious accident spot where many people lose their lives and scores maimed for life.
