Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile has told Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth to bolt out of the race for the city's top seat.Kalembe said the best person to wrestle power from Governor Evans Kidero during the August 8 poll is Senator Mike Sonko. He said if Kenneth is serious about vying for the position of governor, then he should consider doing so in Muranga, his home county.“Peter Kenneth is an outsider,” said Kalembe during an interview at a local radio station on Wednesday.“He adds no value to Jubilee. He cannot defeat Kidero if left alone because he is banking on the Kikuyu vote alone. He should have remained in Gatanga,” he added.Kalembe said Sonko has since 2013 been supporting the Jubilee administration and should therefore be handed the nomination certificate. There is currently devision in the Jubilee Party over who the party should field to contest against Kidero.Senior party members are divided on who between Kenneth and Sonko is best placed to defeat the current county chief.Sonko has been categorical that Kenneth is being favoured by State House and is most likely going to be given the party certificate. He has, however, vowed to de-campaign the former Gatanga MP and ensure he loses to him during the party primary elections. In March, the flamboyant Senator threatened that if Jubilee Party hands the nomination certificate to Kenneth, he will join the opposition National Super Alliance. The rivalry between the two leaders played out on February 26, during a public function in Dagoretti when the event turned nasty as their supporters clashed.
