Former Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Peter Kenneth has broken his silence since he lost his bid to current Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.

In a statement on Thursday, Kenneth has called on the Supreme Court and electoral body IEBC to urgently intervene and give direction on the political stalemate that has rocked the country.

Kenneth pointed out that the current political crisis has occasioned uncertainty, warning that it is detrimental to the country's stability.

"I appeal to both IEBC, The Supreme Court and other Independent bodies to effectively decide and direct on a definite timetable to resolve this impasse urgently," he said.

The former Gatanga MP further urged Kenyans to exercise peace and calm even as the country prepares for the upcoming presidential repeat polls.

"I appeal to each of us to act reasonably without inciting each other and show great respect to our nationhood and love to our beloved country Kenya," he noted.
