Kenya National Congress (KNC) party leader and the 2013 Presidential candidate Peter Kenneth has broken the long silence regarding his political stand and declared his quest to clasp the Murang'a County governorship come 2017.
Kenneth had promised to make public his political stand before the end of the year for either the Presidential or Gubernatorial position and has made good his promise.
He further cited pressure from his supporters insisting on the Murang’a gubernatorial seat instead of presidency as the main reason, thus he had to bow to the people's voice and serve the people of Murang'a.
“Murang’a people have written to me saying I should run as their governor while others others were of the opinion that I aught to try another stab at the Presidency. There are yet again those writing to me telling me to try rescuing Nairobi but time for decision making is yet to come,” Kenneth had indicated during an interview with KTN in April.
The previous Gatanga lawmaker picked up prevalence amid the last general elections inspiring many with his belief systems and development-based brand of politics yet shockingly he didn't accumulate enough votes and came fourth.
