Nairobi governor hopeful Peter Kenneth has accused Governor Evans Kidero of failing city residents.
On Sunday, Kenneth said if he is elected in the forthcoming August polls, he will strive to restore Nairobi to its former glory.
He said the Kidero administration has failed to address the garbage menace which has become an eyesore.
The former Gatanga MP noted that Nairobi residents deserve better services including living in a clean environment.
He at the same time dismissed claims that he is in talks with Senator Mike Sonko on how they can work together ahead of the forthcoming general election.
Kenneth said he’s been very categorical on the procedures Jubilee Party aspirants in Nairobi County can employ in choosing a gubernatorial candidate.
“If there were any talks, I would have told you. I’m not aware but there are processes and I have been very very clear with this processes. It can be through consensus or nominations and we are both ready,” said Kenneth as quoted by the Star.
He also noted that the ongoing quarrels do not augur well for the Jubilee Party’s quest to unseat Governor Evans Kidero in the August polls.
“Let us leave side shows, let us look at what has failed in Nairobi and a lot has failed. That is why we are saying the current regime of Kidero should leave,” added the 2013 presidential candidate.
The former Gatanga MP made the remarks on Sunday after attending a service at the House of Grace Church in Nairobi West.
