Kenneth was eyeing the ruling party's ticket as he seeks to unseat governor Evans Kidero, but lost the bid to flamboyant senator Mike Sonko.

He made the remarks on Tuesday in Mathare North Constituency, where he also branded Sonko Ruto's protégé.

“We did not lose the Jubilee Party nominations, because my opponent was assisted by somebody high up in the party hierarchy,” he stated.

But in a press briefing on Wednesday, a group of Nairobi Jubilee Party supporters under the banner "UhuRuto season 2" accused Kenneth of insincerity, noting that he lost fair and square to the the lawmaker.

“We are very disappointed that you can go blaming your loss on everyone yet it is the voters who made the choice and not any other person," the group's leader and Nominated MCA Wangui Ng'ang'a stated.
