Nairobi governorship candidate Peter Kenneth has hit out at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to ensure the August 8 elections are free, fair and credible.
The independent candidate going against former Raila Odinga aide Miguna Muguna, incumbent Governor Evans Kidero (ODM) and Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko (Jubilee) has told the electoral commission to urgently resolve the row over ballot paper printing.
“Kenyans are not ready for sideshows from the body tasked with managing elections. They are also not concerned with who prints the ballot papers but, rather, with a free and fair election come the eighth of August,” Kenneth said.
He was talking to residents of Nairobi’s Mukuru Kwa Reuben area.
He said this after the High Court cancelled the tender for presidential ballot paper printing awarded to a Dubai-based firm Al Ghurair.
