Former 2013 presidential candidate Peter Kenneth has refuted claims that he tried to bribe Nairobi senator Mike Sonko out of the gubernatorial race.
The former Gatanga MP who declared interest for the Nairobi governor seat in the upcoming elections, said he had never bribed Sonko who is also aspiring to be the next Nairobi county governor.
Speaking to KTN news, Kenneth said he will fight for a Jubilee ticket with other aspirants.
"Nairobi is an important city that has been allowed to go to dogs in many areas. I have grown in the city, worked in the city and I know the good of it. The increased population in the city hasn't been represented well. I am the best to be the governor. I have never bribed anyone to drop out of the race in favor of me. I have every right to contest for any seat in the city,'' he told KTN news.
"I have done much when I was an MP in the past. Nairobi is an ideal place to build our country and I am ready to serve the people of Nairobi", he added.
He urged Nairobi constituents to register as voters and vote him in the coming polls.
