Nairobi gubernatorial candidate, Peter Kenneth, says he is the people's choice, and best bet to send incumbent ODM governor, Dr Evans Kidero home.
The Independent Candidate lost Senator Mike Sonko, in the April party primaries, as he sough the Jubilee Party ticket.
Sonko picked Polycarp Igathe as his running mate, in the race for the top county job, to face off with Kidero, Kenneth, and Miguna Miguna.
However, Jubilee Party Leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto asked Kenneth, to step aside, and allow Sonko, to face off with Kenneth.
During his recent Jubilee campaign tour of Nairobi County, Uhuru endorsed Sonko and Igathe, including all other Jubilee candidates, and asked Nairobians to vote for each one of them.
But the former Kenya National Congress (KNC) party leader responded to Uhuru, Monday, saying "let the people decide".
He noted that he would not chicken out of the race, but rather ensure his name is n the ballot.
Kenneth accused Kidero of failing to account for the billions of shillings given to him by the Nairobians, while Sonko as his senator, failed, to play the oversight role, of ensuring the billions are well invested, to benefit the public.
"Evans Kidero is a consistent loser while Mike Sonko is an unmitigated disaster. He failed to play the oversight role to ensure no money is lost by Kidero. Why should we trust our children with such people? are they the right people? No," said Kenneth.
Speaking in Karen, the former Gatanga lawmaker asked Nairobi residents to vote wisely, and choose him, as the governor, come August 8.
