Nominated MP Johnstone Sakaja has told Peter Kenneth to dissolve his Kenya National Congress and officially join Jubilee Party.
Kenneth has already declared that he will support President Uhuru's re-election bid in 2017 polls adding that he will contest for a governor post.
Although he declared his support for Uhuru and announced to run for governor under the sponsorship of Jubilee party, Kenneth is yet to dissolve his party
"There are many reasons why Uhuru needs to be supported for a second term. He has held this country together and has become a stickler for matters development,” Kenneth was quoted after attending a Mass at St Teresa’s Catholic Church in Eastleigh.
However, former TNA secretary general Johnstone Sakaja says Kenneth must show he is serious and formally close shop for his party.
"We very much welcome Kenneth to Jubilee. He is one of us and we thank him for his support. However, in the spirit of the formation of the Jubilee Party, I ask him to close his party and officially join Jubilee," he told News24.
Kenneth contested for Presidency in the 2013 general elections but was unsuccessful and it is now believed that he will vie for Nairobi governor in the next year's polls although there are chances that he could also vie for Muranga governor.
