They pleaded with the man from Murang’a. They asked him to abandon his presidential bid in 2013. They also pleaded with him to let Sonko go toe to toe with Kidero this year. But Peter Kenneth kept throwing jabs. Saying he can keep going in both instances.

He failed! Terribly!

Peter Kenneth’s mistakes are many. First, he wanted to sprint to the presidency in 2013. He rebuked any attempt to talk him out of it. Then this year, he tried his hand in the Nairobi gubernatorial seat. Many still tried to talk him out of it, but he refused.

In both instances, he stepped on the toes of so many people trying to win. The same people who could have helped propel his political career had he followed the long route of networking and being part of the Jubilee team.

His strategy was all wrong as I shall elaborate.

He tried his luck as MP for Gatanga in 2008 and won easily. He should have done another 5 as MP…proven himself to the people...made his name as a reliable MP…maybe cozied up to Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto.

He should have then tried it out as Senator this year…still in Murang’a. Then Governor of Murang’a in 2022…and maybe…maybe the top seat in 2027. This is similar to what Sonko is doing in Nairobi.

Many argue that Sonko is silently gunning for the top seat or deputy president in 2022 and beyond.

Peter Kenneth has the charisma, but lacks the strategy and the foresight to see that the road to the top seat is no sprint… it is a marathon…and you need a strategy, proper planning and perseverance.

A 20 year strategy is what is needed!

His want for quick ascension up the ladder could cost him the role of being the next in line to take the throne of the proverbial Uthamaki.

For him to jump start his political career, he has to walk back to Jubilee like the Biblical Prodigal son. But will his lone-wolf personality accept such a move?
