Parliament on Thursday evening received a petition seeking to remove IEBC officials out of office.

The petition, which was filed by a Bungoma County resident, Barasa Nyukuri, zoomed in on the incompetence and lack of integrity of the officials.

Nyukuri requested that parliament interrogates and ascertains the grounds for the petition.

Parliament has requested Nyukuri to provide sufficient evidence and if it is satisfied with the findings, it will advice President Uhuru Kenyatta to further look into the allegations.

If the evidence provided is one to stick by, the officials will be required to step down and defend themselves before the tribunal as investigations go on.
