IEBC has been let off the hook by former Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti after he withdrew claims that the commission deliberately destroyed some ballot papers to deny him victory in the August 8 polls.
In his earlier affidavit, Kivuti had accused IEBC of pouring water on some ballot papers in Runyenjes. However, IEBC dismissed the claim saying the ballot boxes were accidentally rained on.
Kivuti is seeking re-tallying of all the governor ballots that were cast during the August 8 General Election. He claims his votes were reduced during tallying.
He also said Wambora’s votes were deliberately added and he was fraudulently declared the winner.
