Victims of the 2007-08 post election violence have filed an application before the International Criminal Court in a bid to push for their compensation.
The victims have accused the Kenyan government saying it should be compelled to pay them for the harm suffered during the post-election violence.
The victims said the government has not honoured its promise. In their application, the victims say this is just one of the empty promises the government has been giving them as they continue to languish in misery.
They called on the ICC judges to help them receive justice even though the Kenyan cases had collapsed.
Through their lawyer Wilfred Nderitu, the victims also want the court to make an order and direct the Trust Fund for Victims to urgently find ways of initiating and providing assistance to all those who were affected by the chaos.
The Trust fund, according to the victims, has become dormant and therefore not helping them as they wanted.
