The resettling process is taking place in stages with an aim of re-settling all the IDPs and compensating all the victims of post-election violence before the next general elections scheduled in August 2017.

On Tuesday, the International criminal court, ICC ruled that there is no case to answer, a ruling that saw Deputy president William Ruto and radio Journalist Sang acquitted of charges of crime against humanity.

While this may be good news to PEV victims who have received compensations, those who haven't been resettled and compensated are not celebrating the ICC ruling.

The amount being offered (Sh400,000) as compensation is not enough to pay for the torture, trauma and sufferings these people have gone through.

Their lands were taken and their loved ones killed. The compensation process is also too slow.
