Prominent Gusii businessman Zachary Mogaka has revealed that Students of Riakworo Secondary school in Kitutu Masaba will soon have a fully equipped ICT laboratory for research purposes.

Speaking at the school’s church yard yesterday, Mogaka said that they will contribute Sh2million to commence the mega project as soon as possible.

“I think if we join hands together, then we will be able to establish an ICT laboratory in this institution. Time has come for us to be philanthropic enough to the society and we shall start with this institution. We will find a way of raising Sh2million for the project as soon as possible,” said Mogaka.

According to him, the school has had significant improvement in national exams over the last four years hence it deserved something extraordinary to motivate students and the staff.

“We have closely monitored the school’s performance in the last four years and it has been extremely impressive. The management and the student have shown that everything is possible whenever there is hard work, determination and goodwill,” added Mogaka.

The institution’s principal Masara Ombori lauded the Mogaka together with othe well-wishers from the community for their endless support to the education sector through several initiatives including giving scholarships to needy students.

“I want to thank everyone in advance for coming up with such plans which will help our students a lot given that the country is moving to the digital era. We also recognise their continued support to needy students from poor background,” acknowledged Mogaka.

Last year, the institution emerged third best in Masaba North district in K.C.S.E with a mean of 5.79, a tremendous improvement from 1.65 when the incumbent took over in 2010.
