Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o is recovering well in the United States.
This is after he successfully underwent a hip bone surgery recently.
The 90-minute surgery involved an eight centimeter cut on his thigh as the hip bone was replaced with an artificial one.
According to a Facebook post by a member of the Governor's communication team, Nyong'o who is still in the US, is weaning off the crutches.
"As the clock is ticking he is getting better. Mr Governor is weaning off the crutches. God's grace is sufficient," the communication team noted.
The team further thanked Kisumu residents for their prayers.
