Hundreds of youth have turned up in various stations, for the National Police Service (NPS) recruitment exercise.The National Police Service (NPS) is conducting the nationwide exercise, in the 292 constituency headquarters, with aim to absorb 10,000 new police constables, for a nine-month training session at the Kenya Police Training College in Kiganjo, Nyeri and Administration Police Training College (APTC) in Embakasi, Nairobi.The recruitment kicked off smoothly in Ruring'u Stadium in Nyeri Town constituency, Gusii Stadium, Kisii County, Mvita grounds in Mombasa, Mbeere South, Tigania East in Meru, Busia county and at Nairobi's City Stadium, among others.

At Nanyuki Municipal Stadium, some 200 youths turned up to compete for 10 positions available, 9 men and 1 woman, while in Tharaka Nithi, recruitment officers only needed three candidates per division, despite hundreds of youth who turned up for the exercise. All applicants recruited for the training will work for a minimum of ten years.Persons eligible for recruitment should have scored a mean grade of D+ (plus), in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and a D+ in English or Kiswahili languages.
