Lawyer Miguna Miguna has been arraigned in a Kajiado court and charged with treason.
The self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement general was arrested Friday last week for administering the oath taken by NASA leader Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, on January 30.
Odinga was sworn in as the people's president.
Appearing in court on Tuesday, Miguna refused to take a plea, saying Justice Kimaru was waiting for him in a Nairobi High Court.
"I cannot take a plea here in Kajiado as Justice Kimaru is waiting for me in Nairobi Law Courts," Miguna said.
Justice Kimaru had ordered the Inspector General of Police and Directorate of Criminal Investigations to present Miguna at the Milimani Law Courts today 9 am.
