The Kenya police force has arrested a female crime suspect described as the most dangerous criminal whom they have been tracking for the last three years.
The suspect Lavender Akinyi Ogilo is being linked to a spate of robberies in posh city estates such as Muthaiga, Lavington, and Kileleshwa.
Lavender is a suspected member of a five-member gang that consists of three men and two women who have been terrorising Kenyans living in posh estates.
Ogilo who is also a mother of one was picked from her house on April 3 by detectives from Kilimani Police Station.
“Lavender has been terrorising the residents of the stated areas for the last three years and escapes without arrest. She is dangerous and operates with armed gangsters who are still at large,” said Kilimani DCIO Fatuma Ali.
The detectives revealed that Ogilo is half Kenyan since one of her parents hail from Tanzania and she reportedly sneaks into Tanzania frequently in a suspected hide-out in Sirare.
“Lavender has evaded our dragnet for long, she commits crimes in Nairobi extending to Tanzania. She is lucky to still be alive,” said the detective.
“The woman is the mastermind of most of the break-ins in the city,” he added.
Lavender's capture comes in months after another most-wanted female criminal Claire Njoki Mwaniki also known as Clea Adi Vybz was shot dead along Kagundo road.
