One pupil of Potters academy has died and 13 others escaped death by a whisker after a school van they were travelling in was involved in an accident on Thursday morning.
The accident that happened at Jamboni in Annex estate, a few kilometers from Eldoret town saw the pupil who was in top class die on the spot after the van was hit by a matatu along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.
Eye-witnesses say the accident happened as the school van driver was branching from the main road.
"The driver was moving away from the main road when he was hit from behind by an MU Matatu Sacco vehicle that was coming from Kesses area to Eldoret town," said an eye witness that did not wish to be named.
"After it was hit, the van rolled and overturned upside down," he added.
The 13 pupils who sustained injuries have been admitted at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) and the Shoe for Africa Children's Hospital in Eldoret town for treatment.
