A section of locals in Kamukunji and Kidiwa estates on the outskirts of Eldoret town on Tuesday had a hard time accessing their houses after the area was hit by floods.
This follows heavy rains that have been pounding the region for the last 24 hours.
Some locals were forced to walk in the middle of the flooded roads to reach their houses.
“This water Is from the hills on the Kiplombe sides and the problem is poor drainage and we always ask for help from the county for the past over five years but nothing has been done,” said Sebastian Amoi, a resident at Kamukunji.
Amoi is also a landlord at residential houses that were affected.
“It is pathetic because at times during the day we just witness flooding from nowhere. As I speak water is inside the house, has carried everything and we have to stand here waiting for the waters to reduce so that we can access our houses,” he added.
