Kenyans have taken to social media in droves as the curtains open up for the official opening of the IAAF world under 18 athletics competition comprising of track and field events.

The four-day event will kick off officially on Thursday with President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta among the dignitaries expected at the official opening.
The 60,000 seater stadium has undergone a major facelift that will enable it to host over athletes across the world.
In the last event held in Cali Columbia in 2015, Kenya finished second in medal standings.
