The Eldoret pioneer bridge in Uasin Gishu County is set to ease traffic congestion along the Eldoret-Kapseret highway.
The bridge which goes through from town to Rivertex area will also enable Pioneer estate residents to access transport more easily while travelling to town.
Speaking to this writer on monday, the county executive in charge of Roads, Gideon Birir said that it will open up other roads which will ease access to town.
"The bridge links Eldoret town to Pioneer and Kipkaren estates," said Birir.
He added that the bridge has eased police vehicle patrol to Pioneer Estate where he says several insecurity incidents have been reported in the past.
"It was hard for police to patrol the estate, they would go round through congestion, but now that place is easily accessed," said Birir.
He further advised small-scale traders selling their wares at the bridge that they should look for other places and pay way for people to cross.
