Uhuru Park
Uhuru Park is a recreational ground adjacent to Nairobi Central Business District (CBD). It is one of the finest parks in Africa, popular and offers fun and exciting activities.
The recreation ground contains an artificial small lake, several national monuments, and an assembly ground which has become popular for skateboarding and horse riding during weekends.
Nairobi Railways Museum
It is adjacent to Nairobi Railway Station and contains exhibits from the defunct East African Railways.
The museum is usually open seven days a week, including most Public Holidays from 8:45am to 4:45pm.
Nairobi Railway Museum consists of the resource center, the auditorium, the main gallery and an outdoor collection of locomotives, wagons and coaches.
Karura Forest
This is an urban forest located north of central Nairobi, and is one of the best nature trails sceneries in the capital city.
Here one gets to see a number of wildlife and different plant species typical to the forest.
There are also a number of fun activities that one can engage-in, varying from hiking to waterfall, picnics, bike riding or a nice stroll.
Nairobi Safari Walk
Nairobi Safari Walk is approximately 7km from the city centre. It is located off Lang’ata Road, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) head office.
Here, one gets to experience African wildlife and nature on foot. One gets an opportunity to establish a relationship with nature and wildlife and can share their paths and space. It is also home to some 150 species of local trees.
Nairobi National Park
The Nairobi National Park is approximately 10km South of Nairobi city center.
It is the only Wildlife park in the world that is close to the city.
The park offers a wildlife experience to both local and foreign tourists. It also has an ivory burning site monument and spacious accommodating picnic sites
