Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Chairman John Mbadi claims powerful figures in government are planning to silence opposition chief Raila Odinga.
This comes barely a week after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria allegedly called for Raila’s assassination at Kasarani Gymnasium in Nairobi.
Speaking in Magunga, Suba Constituency on Saturday, Mbadi called for beefing up of the former Prime Minister’s security.
He told Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to assure Kenyans of Raila's safety.
"A plot to kill Raila is in the public domain but we have sources who have disclosed to us that it is for political reasons. We are asking for the security of Raila to be beefed up to ensure that his life is protected," Mbadi said, as quoted by The Star.
Mbadi sensationally said he got the information from a section of jubilee leaders.
