In view of a team-oriented workforce, the County Government of Uasin Gishu and the team from African Economic Zone (AEZ) had stakeholder meeting on Thursday to foster on their collaboration in order to be a major driver of Economic growth.
The meeting which was held at the County headquarters was geared up to discuss on regularising growth development in their area (Zoning), Fencing approval and access roads.
Speaking during the session, the County Executive in charge of ICT, Trade, and E-Government Dr. Emily Kogos reassured the team that the proactive steps put in place by the county will play a big role in supporting investors.
The team is yet to give a notice of intention plan, talk to landowners who might be affected within the zone for a concrete feedback.
The Industrial park at Plateau, a few kilometers from Eldoret town is tipped to become a key economic stimulant in not only Uasin Gishu county but also the entire North Rift region.
Once complete, the Sh200 billion park is estimated to be able to provide over 50,000 direct jobs to the locals.
