Kisumu Health Officer Lusi Ojwang has assured area residents that plans have already been put in place to ensure that Cholera outbreak is curbed in the county.
Speaking during a press conference on Monday in Kisumu town, Ojwang said that a good number of public officers have already been deployed across all the sub-counties in Kisumu, to ensure that the residents are fully educated concerning the outbreak.
“We have deployed all our officers in each and every sub-county within the county of Kisumu to ensure that they fully educate and also sensitize the community concerning the cholera outbreak,” said Ojwang’.
Ojwang went ahead and confirmed that so far, at least eight people have already died, and more than 100 people hospitalized due to the cholera outbreak.
“I urge all the people of this county to ensure that they only drink clean and boiled water and that they also avoid polluting near the source of water. If you see any person with symptoms of Cholera, Kindly rush that person to hospital so that he or she can get immediate assistance from the doctors,” added Ojwang.
Ojwang went ahead to assure the general public that the ministry will curb the outbreak.
“Have confidence in us. I assure you that we are in a position to curb this outbreak,” added the officer.
