Mvita MP Sharrif Nassir held a joint presser with religious and human rights leaders after Friday prayers at Masjid Musa in Majengo-Mombasa.
Their views culminated to the importance of collective efforts in addressing the criminal elements arising from destructive 'Inter Mitaa' youth rivalries.
"Every body in the society beginning from parents at home has a duty and a responsibility in ensuring our kids and youth remain steadfast, disciplined and abiding by the rule of law. We all must come together to reconcile our youth and ensure we remain undivided as a people," Nassir.
Addressing the press, Haki Africa Chief Executive Director Hussein Khalid called for peace and security amongst youth of different areas of Mombasa.
He noted that HAKI Africa will work with religious leaders to ensure youth of Majengo are supported to improve their lives and guaranteed their rights.
The religious leaders led by Sheikh Abu Qatada, emphasised the need for youth to treat each other as brothers and end the animosity amongst them.
Later in the day, HAKI Africa met with youth of Majengo and agreed on areas of partnership to enhance security in the area.
