Limuru Member of Parliament John Kiragu has revealed that plans are underway to revive Tigoni and Bathi dams in an effort to address water shortages being experienced in the area.
Kiragu said that the county government in partnership with the Limuru Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) is working to restore the dams as soon as possible.
“We are keen to address water shortage being experienced in Limuru and neighbouring areas by reviving the Tigoni and Bathi dams,” said Kiragu.
The lawmaker who was speaking on Tuesday after a tour of Tigoni dam noted that he receives complaints daily in regards to water shortage in his constituency.
He further challenged the county government to partner with investors who will help address water shortages.
LWSC Managing Director Margret Maina who accompanied Kiragu said that the company was working on projects that will address water scarcity.
She said that the company has partnered with the Kiambu government to sink boreholes across the county to enable locals have access to water.
