The government is planning to ban the use of plastic bottles in the country once they are done dealing with dealing with plastic bags.

During a press conference in Nakuru town on Thursday evening NEMA chair John Konchellah said plans are underway and they are planning to talk to the environment ministry to affect the ban on plastic bags.

“As soon as we are done dealing with the plastic bags we are going to hold talks with the Ministry of Environment to start addressing the plastic bottles menace we don’t need them in our environment they make environment look dirty and ugly.” Konchellah said

The ban on plastic bags was implemented last month with the aim of keeping the county this come after many Kenyans didn’t know the right way of disposing the plastic bags in the right way hence making the environment untidy and unsafe.

Kenya joins other countries in Africa in implementing this ban on plastic and it has set tough penalties if anyone is found with plastic bags this includes a four million fine or risk of being jailed for four years.
