Former Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards great Mickey Weche has urged the country's national team players to work hard to make Kenya proud.Speaking during the launch of a new campaign dubbed 'Tujiamini' in Nairobi, Weche told the players not to concentrate on money but focus on developing their sporting talent."During our time, we used to play for the flag and club not money. We used to get paid Sh500 for a win and we were thankful. I urge youngsters to work hard and give their best," Weche said.The remarks comes days after Kenya suffered defeat in the hands of Iraq and Thailand in friendlies played over the weekend.Speaking at the same event, Simeon Mulama, another former Harambee Stars player, urged local companies to support sports in the country."We need more companies to join this noble initiative. Sports is a huge industry if well supported, we will see the benefits," said the former Sofapaka and Mathare United player.'Tujiamini' is an initiative of betting company SportPesa aimed at harnessing the collective power of sports to transform the country."Our sporting legends have reached the pinnacle of success, shattering world records and giving every citizen a reason to smile and we should explore all avenues to make sports big," said Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri.
