Kisumu County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim has pleaded with doctors and nurses to end the ongoing strike.

“As much as doctors and nurses are pushing for more resources, they should also look at the sufferings of the poor who are ailing,” said Maalim.

He who was speaking at a security meeting that brought together all the seven Sub-county security committees in the region.

Maalim said he knew the strike was a policy matter and that relevant authorities would be handling it.

He however called on health practitioners in the County to be humane and consider the sick who could not access the services in private hospitals due to costs.
