Kisii county government has been challenged to provide polytechnic institutions which are not under the national with funds to procure to buy tools, equipment, to build classrooms and workshops.
Speaking in Kisii town, county polytechnic council chairman Jared Nyabosia said many of polytechnics in Kisii suffers a lot since they are devolved.
“When polytechnic schools were under the national government everything was right but since they are now under the county, we ask the county to finance such institutions,” noted Nyabosia.
“We have insufficient classrooms, workshops, tools and equipment among others in our polytechnic schools," said Nyabosia.
"We urge our Governor James Ongwae to take responsibility of our institutions and send money to save such institutions,” added Nyabosia.
