Below is an update by the IEBC, about the presidential election results.
"Update No. 7: Receipt of Forms 34A and 34B
INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL AND BOUNDARIES COMMISSION(IEBC)·
THURSDAY, 10 AUGUST 2017Good Evening,This is our seventh update since the start of the General Elections.Update on forms 34A and 34BWe have so far received 29,000 form 34A and uploaded 22,257 forms to the public portal. As at 10:30 pm, we had received ten (10) form 34B out of the expected 290. Form 34B are the collation of all the form 34As from the polling stations in a constituency.Pending results1,200 out of the 40,883 polling stations are yet to report their results. We have a team of over 50 call center assistants who are working around the clock to get the details from the various stations.TimelinesWe have 338 tallying centers across the country and what is going on here are also taking place there.The commission has up to seven days to announce the final presidential elections results. This means that we have Tuesday, August 15th 2017 to conclude this process. However, we hope to finalize before the said constitutional deadline.We want to appeal to the contestants and their agents in the respective tallying centers to collaborate with our returning officers to expedite the process of collation and eventual transmission of election results.We are appealing to all Kenyans to maintain calm as we work tireless to conclude this process.Thank youWafula ChebukatiCHAIRMAN (IEBC)"
