[Photo|Citizen Digital]Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has called on the Supreme Court President, Chief Justice David Maraga, to, protect him, against attacks from the Opposition and Gusii leaders. This follows criticism from a section of Opposition, and residents from Kisii County, against Ngunjiri and the Jubilee Party, after he filed petition at the Judicial Service Commission, seeking removal of Maraga from office. He accused him of gross misconduct, after nullifying August 8 presidential election, in which President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared winner."I am really hoping the CJ will come out publicly and defend me from those people saying my petition against him was an attach on the Kisii community, since the CJ told off President Uhuru Kenyatta in April for suggesting that Kisii's were in government because the Chief Justice is one of their sons," said Ngunjiri, adding that it was wrong for both the Kisii community and Nasa to attack him.He later withdrew his 14-page petition after President Uhuru, asked him to, saying the Jubilee Party was concentrating on the fresh October presidential election.Ngunjiri agreed to withdraw the petition through Twitter, saying: "I stand by the grievances in the Maraga petition, but due to the political environment, I will not pursue it, for now."
