Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has requested Cord leader Raila Odinga to back him as the coalition's flag-bearer in the 2017 general election.
Speaking during a rally held in Migori, Wetangula argued that the Cord leader has unsuccessfully tried thrice to clinch the presidential seat and therefore should back another candidate.
He said this maintaining that he was the best candidate to send home the ruling Jubilee party in 2017 and pleaded with Raila to return the 2013 'favour'.
This comes barely a week after the Cord co-principal was accused of meeting secretly with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in an alleged plot to oust Raila Odinga as Cord's flag bearer ahead of 2017 elections.
