Lawyer PLO Lumumba has resigned as the Director of Kenya School of Law.
In a letter to the board of the law school, Lumumba said he will not be able to serve another term.
"I wrote to the board last week to indicate that I will not be able to serve another term and they accepted my request. I want to demonstrate that, as a public servant, you can serve and leave room for others to also serve," said Lumumba.
He has served as the school's director since 2014.
Between 2010 and 2011, Lumumba was the Director of the defunct Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission, now the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
The eloquent lawyer and master of English language recently represented the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in a presidential petition filed by Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka of NASA.
The National Super Alliance won the case at the Supreme Court.
The court found out that Lumumba's client did not conduct the presidential election according to the constitution and elections law.
The fresh presidential election have been scheduled for October 26.
