Residents of Athi River have woken up to the sad news of the demise of a plumber, 43, after a trench for laying pipes collapsed.  According to Star, the man, Ndunda Ndeti was buried by a huge lump of soil, and efforts to rescue him did not bear fruits.

The deceased, who was an employee of Mavoko Water and Sewerage Company Services was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Athi River Medical Services Hospital. The deceased had been rushed to the facility by good Samaritans from Njuguini slum but unfortunately, he succumbed.  

Speaking to the local daily,  Zipporah Ndeti, the deceased’s sister, said that her brother passed while working with one of his colleagues whom he identified as Reuben Sang.

Sang was also buried but fortunately, he survived after being treated and discharged from the facility. The deceased body is currently at Shalom Community hospital Mortuary as burial arrangements continue.
