The PNU Party has officially endorsed the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.PNU national vice chairman Sheikh Juma Ngao said their party leader Peter Munya has directed all officials to campaign for Jubilee and ensure Uhuru is re-elected on October 26.Ngao argued that PNU ditched NASA after Munya realised Raila Odinga was up to no good and was creating confusion in the country by making unnecessary demands.Ngao asked Coast residents to campaign for Jubilee claiming that NASA had disrespected them by nominating MCAs from other regions.“Raila has nominated five MCAs in Kilifi County from upcountry and forced Governor Amason Kingi to endorse them,” said Ngao.Ngao criticised the move, saying it was unfair considering Kilifi overwhelmingly voted for ODM in the August 8 polls. He said Jubilee performed poorly in the Coast region because President Uhuru entrusted the wrong people to run his campaigns.“I urge the President to do the right thing this time round and give us the mandate to campaign for him for the repeat polls and he will see the difference,” he said.Ngao said Gideon Mung’aro and Mustafa Iddi failed to educate Coast residents about the true position of their land problems which they wrongly attributed to the Kikuyu community. He said the land problem in Coast was created by a few unscrupulous Muslims who grabbed the land and rented it the locals.Ngao asked Uhuru to ensure he rewards the Coast people generously when he gets elected on October 26.He asked him to gazette the Muslim celebrations of Idd Ul Adha, Maulid and the Islamic new years as public holidays to be observed by all the people of Kenya regardless of their faith.
