Council of Governors chairman and Party of National Unity (PNU) party leader Peter Munya has said that his party has send DP Ruto and Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale into a panic mode.
Munya has also said that President Kenyatta had his deputy are to blame in case he (Uhuru) fails to defend his seat. The outspoken govenor said Ruto’s attacks are aimed at securing his egocentric 2022 interests.
“Number two has been engaging in all sorts of machinations to cut us to size, but I can tell you they will not work. Some of us are unstoppable. In fact, I will vie in 2022 for the country’s top seat on the PNU ticket," said Munya.
"You don’t win elections by antagonising people. You win when you bring everyone on board so the country can move ahead together,” Munya added.
The governor also confirmed PNU’s commitment to Uhuru’s re-election. However, Munya wants the DP to be put under check if Kenyatta desires a second term.
“We have a few people who are creating rivalry. We will field candidates across the country. Even Dualeis having sleepless nights in Garissa. We have candidates in all places across the country,” added Munya.
