KWS has died claims that officers killed a rhino at the Nakuru National Park on Thursday.

According to the service, a poacher was killed and not a rhino as speculated earlier.

The clarification by KWS comes at a time when a crackdown on poachers has intensified across the country.

"Efforts to track down poaching suspects are under-way in several parts of the country," KWS said in an official statement.
