President Kenyatta has been challenged by Kibera youths to deal with the way the Kenyan police handles the low-class citizens.
The youths say the way police handle the culprits is very different as compared to how they handle suspects or criminals from high-end areas.
‘‘I am challenging President Kenyatta to watch the ‘Kanjo Kingdom’ investigative story which was aired on KTN TV. The story is self-explanatory,’’ said James Ng’ang’a, one of the area residents.
‘‘We have seen big scandals like corruption which have left many youths jobless. In fact, some of the people mentioned in the cases are very well known to the president since they have worked for his government, however, these people are only given an order in form of a letter requiring them to go to court where the process of judging them will take over a year but a poor man who is selling second-hand clothes is beaten to death by the askaris and the police. It is very ironical,’’ said Beatrice Wangili, another resident.
