Police in Kongoni, Naivasha, have arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly defiling another minor.

According to police records, the victim of defilement is three.

The teenage boy escaped lynching by irate members of the public following the incident that took place in Moi Ndabibi area that is 40kms from Naivasha town.

The girl was immediately rushed to Naivasha sub-county hospital for treatment.

According to neighbours, the suspect had been left to take care of the girl as the mother rushed another child to hospital when the incident occurred.

Naivasha assistant county commissioner Joseph Opondo has confirmed the incident and said the suspect was living with the victim's family at the time of the incdent.

“When the mother came back she found the minor bleeding she asked the teenager who gave contradicting stories before he was arrested,” he said.

Police said the teenager who dropped out of school in class three will be charged in court with various counts of offence once investigations are over.
