Police officers on Sunday arrested four family members hailing from Suneka area, Kisii County for allegedly being involved in huge production of illicit brew in the area.
Confirming the incident Kisii Police Chief Francis Nguli said they have been doing investigation which made them get hold of the four family members.
"We managed to arrest John Begi, his wife Leonida Begi, his younger sister Jane Miruka as well as one of his elder son who is believed to be the marketer of the produce," said Nguli.
Nguli further said during the raid that was held on Sunday morning they managed to nab over 4000 liters of alcohol ready for transport at one of their stores.
"We have brought the samples as well as suspects to Kisii Central police and we will ensure they are arraigned in court as soon as possible" said Nguli.
The police however warned all illicit brew traders saying that they will all be arrested as the Government is committed to ensure there is no more trade of the liquor.
Nguli further urged those involved in the business to venture into another before its too late.
