Kathiani police have arrested a 39-year-old man suspected of locking up a sixteen-year-old girl in his house in Ithaeni Kathiani sub-county of Machakos county.
The incident was confirmed by Kaewa location chief Titus Vuva who said that the man wooed the orphan girl with Sh800.
Vuva said that the girl, a form one student in a neighboring school who lived with her grandfather had been missing for four days.
"The girl was locked in one of the houses in Ithaeni market, she had been locked there for four days before being discovered with the guy who had deceived her with Sh800," said the Chief.
He said that Sh700 were recovered from the girl as she had already used a hundred shillings.
Chief Vuva said that the girl was taken to Kathiani hospital for medical checkup.
He warned that unscrupulous men in the area who deceive young girls into bed won't be spared by the long arm of the law."Stringent measures will be taken against any man found locking up school girls or defiling them, school girls are not wives let kids be kids" he said.
The man, a bar owner in Ithaeni market is being held at Kathiani police station awaiting arraignment in court on Monday.
